Electricity without sockets ???

Do you ever think to get electricity without sockets ? It would be great if we could get  wireless electricity. Recently a MIT research team has figured out a way to wirelessly illuminate an unplugged light bulb from seven feet away.  According to them, they do it using a carefully designed magnetic field to deliver power to devices. Probably you already came across this news.
